The Cars

The Jaguar XK nameplate spans two quite different cars. The pre-1961 XK150 is a classic — 9,382 units produced in OTS (roadster), FHC (fixed-head coupe), and DHC (drophead coupe) forms between 1957 and 1960. The 3.4-litre and later 3.8-litre DOHC inline-six powered it, and the interior combined leather-trimmed dashboards with optional walnut veneer and the distinctive thin aluminium door cards that are one of the XK's signature design details. The early DHC variant carried an X-pattern engraved aluminium centre dash panel — discontinued from June 1958 — that has become one of the hardest NLA items in the entire XK line.

The XK/XKR150 (2006–2014) is a different proposition: a modern grand tourer built on the X150 aluminium platform, powered by Jaguar's 4.2-litre or supercharged 5.0-litre V8. Inside, it features full leather upholstery, burr walnut veneer trim, alloy face-level detailing, climate-controlled seats, and adaptive damping. Values currently range from £15,000–£45,000 for driver-quality cars up to £45,000–£80,000 for concours examples. The X150 interior's veneer panels — particularly those on the cockpit surround and door trims — are notoriously susceptible to sun damage, and several trim components are now NLA from JLR Classic.

1957–1960

2006–2014
XK/XKR150

OctoClassic — The News That Matters

Finally: someone is reproducing X150 interior trim.

OctoClassic project announcement, Jaguar Forums X150 subforum, April 14 2026

Mykhailo Mokliak announced on the Jaguar Forums X150 subforum in April 2026 that OctoClassic is actively investigating — and in some cases already cataloguing — reproduction of NLA interior trim parts for the XK/XKR150 (2006–2014). This is the most significant development in years for X150 interior sourcing: several key trim panels have been unavailable from JLR Classic for some time, and OctoClassic represents the first new production option for these parts.

OctoClassic already has established catalogues for the XK8 and XJS ranges, and the X150 interior programme is the logical extension of that work. Their currently catalogued X150 parts include:

  • Inner mirror cover with door tweeter (left and right)
  • Front seat outer rail cover trim (left and right)
  • Dashboard air vent grille trim (left, central, and right)
  • Door handle trim cover with hole (left and right)
  • Front inner seat cover (driver and passenger inner side)

Full programme details — including which parts are actively in production versus still under investigation — are not yet fully public. The OctoClassic X150 catalogue is evolving, and the programme is worth watching closely.

A note on delivery reliability

The OctoClassic story is promising, but not without caution flags. One Jaguar Forums member — who goes by Circumnavigator and is based in Charlotte, NC — reported in April 2026 that they ordered an OctoClassic convertible top manual bolt cover cap, paid for it, and waited approximately 7 months before the delivery was eventually cancelled without the part ever arriving. This is a live data point, not an isolated incident anecdote.

Our position: OctoClassic is worth watching. It is not yet a verified stable supplier for large orders. Confirm lead times before committing, watch their catalogue for maturity, and check community feedback before placing significant orders. We will update this guide as the programme develops.

What's Available vs. What Remains NLA

Classic XK150 (pre-1961)

The classic XK150 benefits from a mature reproduction supply chain, particularly from World Upholstery & Trim, BAS Jaguar Trim, M&C Wilkinson, and Aldridge. The big NLA items remain stubbornly difficult.

Available (classic XK150):

  • Leather seat covers — World Upholstery & Trim, BAS, M&C Wilkinson, Aldridge
  • Wilton wool carpet sets — BAS, World Upholstery & Trim (CNC cut, bound including heel pads)
  • Headliners (pre-shaped boards with trim material applied) — BAS, World Upholstery & Trim
  • Rubber seal kits (DHC) — BAS carries a full XK150 DHC rubber seal kit
  • Door panels (pre-trimmed, ready to fit) — World Upholstery & Trim, BAS
  • Sunvisors — BAS, World Upholstery & Trim

Still NLA (classic XK150) — no reproduction available:

  • Early DHC X-pattern engraved aluminium centre dash panel (pre-June 1958) — cracked or missing finish is near-universal; NOS exhausted
  • Front seat-buckle assembly components (retainer spring, release mechanism)
  • Specific door-card trim clips and fasteners
  • Door-window rubber seals — some cross-sections have never been reproduced
  • Steering column shroud and switch housing (certain configurations)

NOS or limited availability (classic XK150):

  • Walnut veneer dash inserts — NOS stocks exhausted; world supply now from salvage stripping
  • Headliner boards (especially FHC) — some NOS remaining with specialist traders

XK/XKR150 (2006–2014)

Available from JLR Classic Parts:

  • Body interior fixtures and fittings
  • Centre console assembly and trim
  • Door trim finishers (full lineup from B00379 onwards)
  • Facia components
  • Floor coverings and carpets
  • Glovebox assembly
  • Headlinings and sunvisors
  • Veneers and wood sets — limited availability; veneer degradation is endemic on sun-exposed cars

Still NLA from JLR (X150) — OctoClassic in catalogue or under investigation:

  • Dashboard air vent grille trim (left/central/right) — in OctoClassic catalogue; delivery reliability flagged
  • Inner mirror cover with door tweeter — in OctoClassic catalogue
  • Seat rail outer cover trim — in OctoClassic catalogue
  • Centre console gaiter and trim surround — NLA; OctoClassic investigating
  • Door tweeter grille assemblies — NLA; OctoClassic investigating

Choosing the Right Restoration Grade

The quality grade you target determines which suppliers to use and what budget to set. Getting this wrong costs more in re-work than it saves on the initial purchase.

Grade Standard Typical Interior Cost Preferred Sourcing
A — Concours Show standard, judged at club events or premium auction (RM Sotheby's, Bonhams, Broad Arrow). Indistinguishable from factory original to a trained judge. £8,000–£25,000+ NOS → OctoClassic (if proven stable) → World Upholstery & Trim premium tier → BAS → eBay NOS → donor car stripping. Connolly leather in correct weight and grain.
B — High Driver Excellent presentation for regular use, touring, or car-club events without formal judging. Indistinguishable at arm's length. £3,500–£8,000 World Upholstery & Trim → BAS → M&C Wilkinson → Aldridge → Moss Motors complete kit. Correct-colour leather; correct-pattern carpet in appropriate wool blend.
C — Driver Presentable interior, functionally correct, no obvious failures. Correct colour family — close match acceptable. Durable materials for lower-wear panels. £1,500–£3,500 Moss Motors complete kit → BAS standard tier → eBay quality seller → Aldridge. Vinyl-leatherette acceptable for lower-wear panels.
Note on early DHC X-pattern dash panel

If your target is concours, the early DHC X-pattern engraved aluminium centre dash panel is the hardest single part to source. NOS is exhausted; specialist salvage stripping is the only route. Budget accordingly and start looking early — these are rare to find in good condition.
