Overview

This California Privacy Notice applies to California residents and is provided pursuant to the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 (CCPA) as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), effective January 1, 2023, and codified at Cal. Civ. Code § 1798.100 et seq.

This notice describes your California privacy rights, the categories of personal information we collect, and how we use and share it. For our full privacy practices, see our Privacy Policy.

We do not sell or share your personal information.

CarSpanner does not sell personal information to third parties and does not share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising. No opt-out mechanism is required, but you may confirm this at any time by emailing contact@carspanner.com.

Your California Privacy Rights

California residents have the following rights under CCPA/CPRA. These rights are subject to certain exceptions permitted by law.

  • 1.
    Right to Know

You have the right to know: (a) the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you; (b) the categories of sources from which it was collected; (c) our business purpose for collecting it; and (d) the categories of third parties with whom we share it.

  • 2.
    Right to Delete

You have the right to request deletion of personal information we have collected from you, subject to certain exceptions (for example, where retention is required to complete a transaction you requested, detect security incidents, or comply with legal obligations).

  • 3.
    Right to Correct

You have the right to request correction of inaccurate personal information we maintain about you, taking into account the nature of the personal information and the purposes of processing.

  • 4.
Right to Opt-Out of Sale or Sharing

You have the right to opt out of the "sale" of personal information and of "sharing" for cross-context behavioural advertising. We do not sell or share personal information as defined by CCPA/CPRA. No action is required on your part.

  • 5.
Right to Limit Use of Sensitive Personal Information

You have the right to limit the use and disclosure of sensitive personal information to certain defined purposes. We do not collect sensitive personal information as defined by CPRA.

  • 6.
    Right to Non-Discrimination

You have the right to not receive discriminatory treatment for exercising your CCPA/CPRA rights. We will not deny you goods or services, charge different prices, provide a different quality of service, or suggest you will receive inferior service for exercising any right described here.

Exercising Your Rights

To submit a CCPA/CPRA rights request, follow these steps:

  1. 1 Email contact@carspanner.com with "California Privacy Request" in the subject line. Describe the right you wish to exercise (Know, Delete, Correct, Opt-Out confirmation, or Non-Discrimination confirmation).
  2. 2 We will verify your identity before processing your request. Because CarSpanner does not require registration, verification may be limited — we will request information reasonably necessary to verify you are the consumer making the request.
  3. 3 We will respond within 45 days of receiving a verifiable consumer request. If we require more time, we will notify you within the initial 45-day period and may extend the response period by a further 45 days (90 days total).
  4. 4 Responses are provided free of charge, up to twice per 12-month period. For manifestly unfounded or excessive requests, we may charge a reasonable fee or decline to act.

Authorised Agents

You may designate an authorised agent to make a CCPA/CPRA request on your behalf. We will require: (a) a signed authorisation from you granting the agent permission to submit the request; and (b) verification of your identity directly with us, independent of the agent. We may deny a request from an agent who cannot provide the required documentation.

6.7

Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information

Under CCPA/CPRA, you have the right to opt out of the sale and sharing of your personal information. Because CarSpanner does not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined in CCPA/CPRA, no opt-out mechanism is required.

Specifically: we do not sell personal information to data brokers or other third parties for monetary consideration. We do not share personal information with third parties for cross-context behavioural advertising.

If you wish to receive written confirmation of this, email contact@carspanner.com with "Do Not Sell Confirmation" in the subject line. We will respond within 15 business days.

6.8

Non-Discrimination Commitment

We are committed to not discriminating against California residents who exercise their CCPA/CPRA rights. Exercising your privacy rights will not result in:

  • Denial of goods or services
  • Charges of different prices or rates for goods or services
  • Provision of a different level or quality of goods or services
  • A suggestion that you will receive a different price, rate, level, or quality of goods or services

All features of CarSpanner are and will remain free and accessible to all users, regardless of any privacy choices made.
