The Series I cabin carries a dashboard with an 8,000 rpm tachometer (replaced by the 7,000 rpm in Series II), Series I-specific glove box lid moulding with the early Datsun emblem shape, Series I-spec steering wheel with the smaller diameter hub and the early Z emblem, and a Series I-only centre console without the later auxiliary switch panel cut-outs. The 8,000 rpm tachometer is a Series I-only part and reproductions carry the same redline but dial-print quality varies — the redline print and digit spacing differ from the original. NOS centre consoles surface through Datsun Spirit. The Series I glove box lid and ash tray mouldings are reproduced by Z Car Source and Motorsport Auto but the badge engraving text fidelity and chrome plating quality are community-flagged quality issues.

Three chassis-specific parts divide cleanly across the Series I vs Series II production runs. Front strut tower repair sections: the early towers are narrower and use a different top mount bolt pattern than the later towers — reproduced by Arizona Z Car and Z Car Source, split by generation. Sway bar end links are dimensionally different because the sway bar diameter changed and the threaded section length differs. Half-shaft CV joints used a different inner spline count and outer joint boot profile between generations. All three parts are reproduced by Motorsport Auto and Z Car Depot but the cross-reference by year must be confirmed at order time because some aftermarket listings genericize across both generations. Series I specific rear strut housing spanners are also a Series I-only tool — reproduction spanners from Zeds Dead and Z Car Depot are available but dimensional match must be verified.
